One of the common conditions we help with is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome the numbness, tingling, and weakness that make your hands feel like they're letting you down.
The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway in the wrist through which the median nerve travels to supply feeling and function to the thumb and first three fingers. When the tissues within and around this tunnel become swollen or tight, the nerve gets compressed — and carpal tunnel syndrome is the result.
Repetitive hand and wrist work is the most common driver: long hours of typing and mouse use, assembly work, tool use, or gripping. But what many people don’t realize is that the muscles of the forearm play a huge role. When these muscles become chronically tight from repetitive use, they increase tension through the wrist and can compress or irritate the nerve along its path — and tightness further up in the shoulder and neck can contribute to symptoms in the hand as well.
What are the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
The hallmark symptoms are numbness, tingling, and “pins and needles” in the thumb, index, middle, and part of the ring finger. Symptoms are often worst at night — many people wake up needing to shake out their hands to bring the feeling back — and flare during activities like driving, holding a phone, or typing.
As the condition progresses, hand weakness and clumsiness creep in. You might find yourself dropping things, struggling with jar lids and buttons, or feeling like your grip simply isn’t what it used to be. Some people also feel aching or burning that travels up the forearm.
Because we do nearly everything with our hands, carpal tunnel syndrome intrudes on all of it — work, hobbies, cooking, even holding a book. And interrupted sleep from nighttime symptoms adds a layer of exhaustion on top. The earlier the pressure on the nerve is addressed, the better the outlook.

What Is Our Approach To Fixing / Treating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
We start by assessing the entire pathway of the nerve — not just your wrist. That means examining the forearm muscles, the wrist itself, and also the shoulder and neck, since tension anywhere along the chain can contribute to symptoms in the hand.
Hands-on treatment focuses on releasing the tight forearm muscles and soft tissue that increase pressure through the carpal tunnel, freeing restrictions around the wrist, and easing the neck and shoulder tension that so often accompanies desk-based work. Reducing this tension takes stress off the median nerve and improves circulation to the whole arm and hand.
We’ll also help you address the habits feeding the problem — workstation setup, wrist positioning, grip patterns — and give you stretches and self-care techniques to keep the forearms supple between visits. For many clients, this combined approach brings meaningful relief and helps them avoid more invasive options.
